Vilém Flusser in Towards a Philosophy of Photography writes: „What one sees on them (technical images) therefore do not appear to be symbols that one has to decode but symptoms of the world through which, even if indirectly, it is to be perceived. [...] Black-and-white photographs are more concrete and in this sense more true: They reveal their theoretical origin more clearly, and vice versa: The ‚more genuine‘ the colours of the photograph become, the more untruthful they are, the more they conceal their theoretical origin.“
In Archetype, I tried to capture a part of the world in its immaculate form through photography. I was (sensually, not rationally) looking for symptoms of the forest, their archetypal impact, which is similar for all the forests in the world. The final universal photography was projected on a wall in its entirety in such a way that it doesn’t look like an image extracted from reality but an essential part of it.
Vilém Flusser ve své knize Za filosofii fotografie píše: „To, co na nich (technických obrazech) vidíme, se proto nejeví jako symboly, které je třeba dešifrovat, ale jako symptomy světa, skrze něž, byť nepřímo, jej vnímáme. [...] Černobílé fotografie jsou konkrétnější a v tomto smyslu pravdivější: jasněji odhalují svůj teoretický původ, a naopak: čím ‚autentičtější‘ se barvy fotografie stávají, tím jsou nepravdivější, tím více skrývají svůj teoretický původ.“
V projektu Pravzor jsem se pokusila zachytit část světa v jeho ryzí podobě prostřednictvím fotografie. Hledala jsem (smyslově, nikoli racionálně) symptomy lesa, jeho archetypální působení, které je podobné ve všech lesích světa. Konečná univerzální fotografie byla promítána na zeď v celistvosti takovým způsobem, že nepůsobí jako obraz vytržený z reality, ale jako její podstatná součást.
