recycled garden

Recycled Garden is a project submitted to a competition for an installation at the site of the planned construction of a new pavilion, with the themes “Great Nature” and “Man and Nature,” organized by the Estonian Museum of Natural History. Over the course of several stages, the proposed installation invites visitors to explore the cyclical transformation of nature at a specific location, as well as to analyze the completed cycle through the screening of a time-lapse video as part of a one-day exhibition. The project draws on ideas from geographer Cindi Katz’s essay “Whose nature, whose culture?”, dissecting, revising, and subsequently interpreting the terms and themes of “recycling,” “reappropriation,” and “restoration ecology.”
